Common Docs workflows

Markdown renderers differ: GitHub, GitLab and static site generators support different extensions for tables, task lists, diagrams and math. A preview shows one renderer's interpretation, so check the published page in the system that will display it.

Prepare technical documentation

Preview Markdown, build a table or draw a Mermaid diagram. Export the result for your repository and check it in the renderer that will publish the document.

Document a formula or architecture

Edit a LaTeX equation and export PNG or MathML, or sketch a system with Excalidraw and export SVG. Keep the editable source next to the exported image.

Move content between formats

Convert HTML to Markdown or plain text, wrap plain text in HTML paragraphs, or convert forum BBCode. Review links, images and tables after conversion.

  • HTML to Markdown — Convert HTML pages and snippets to Markdown.
  • HTML to Text — Extract readable text from HTML, decode entities and keep useful block boundaries.
  • Text to HTML — Turn plain text into escaped HTML with a paragraph wrapper and explicit line breaks.
  • HTML to BBCode — Convert common HTML formatting to a portable BBCode subset.

Export the source with the image

A PNG of a diagram or formula cannot be edited later. Commit the Mermaid, Excalidraw or LaTeX source alongside the rendered asset.

Conversions simplify markup

HTML features without a Markdown or BBCode equivalent, such as classes, scripts and complex layouts, are dropped or approximated.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Markdown preview match GitHub?

It supports GitHub Flavored Markdown tables, task lists, Mermaid diagrams and LaTeX math. Renderer-specific extensions and sanitization rules can still differ from GitHub.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Rendering, formatting and export run in your browser. Exports are downloaded as files you control.
